Flight of the Conchords

I have to thank Ian for letting me borrow season one of this awesome show! When Glee was on hiatus for the summer season, we found ourselves indulging in this witty and humorous HBO mini-series? I say mini-series because after season two they stopped making this show, which is totally sad but also good because I hate when shows continue on after they have used all of their good ideas. There are too many favorite lines and musical numbers that I enjoy, but you probably wouldn't understand them out of context so just go ahead and get the DVDs and discover for yourselves how great FOTC is!

Pho

I realize a lot of my posts are centered on food. Oh well. This is one of my favorites. Pho. It's pronounced Fuh, and nothing annoys me more than when a waitress at Enjoy calls it "Ph-o" in an attempt to correct my pronunciation.

So this is a Vietnamese rice noodle soup often served with beef and is often served with basil, lime, bean sprouts, and peppers that are added to the soup. I was first introduced to by my friend Connie back in our high school days. I've been addicted ever since. Just talking about it makes me crave it...

There are quite a few places in the valley to get pho. I often go to Enjoy cuisine because it is so close and delicious, but there are some Thai resturaunts in West Jordan and many resturaunts in West Valley (my favorite being the Green Papaya) that offer pho.

Vaccinations

I think this one goes without saying. If you know me you know I am too big of a wimp to have survived had I been born in any era before now. Modern medicine is miraculous, and I can only hope vaccinations will continue to be developed for diseases that are now prevalent.

Smartfood Popcorn

The only thing wrong with Smartfood is how addicting it is. This is an essential road trip food, though you will be cleaning popcorn pieces from the car for many months to come.

Hot Rod

If you know me (which I hope you do) you know I'm talking about the movie. This is where my blog title comes from, and I'll be sure to list more of my favorite quotes. I should actually just find a transcript of the whole movie and post it... The quotes are not done justice without seeing the movie, so if you haven't yet-do it, and invite me! It usually makes me laugh just thinking about it.

The entire title quote, though it's too long to fit in the blog allotment "I used to be legit. I was too legit. I was too legit to quit. but now I'm not legit. I'm unlegit. And for that reason, I must quit. "

"I needed to think about last night. So I galloped into a wooded glen, and after punch-dancing out my rage and suffering an extremely long and very painful fall, I realized what has to be done."

"My name is Rod, and I like to party"

"The front of his face exploded out the back of his skull. He died instantly, the next day."

"Hey, Rod, whats that song about a grandma getting run over by a reindeer?"

"Have fun being married to SATAN!"

"I'm freakin pumped! I've been drinking green tea all &@&&@#& day!"
"This is my hat now! This is totally my hat!"

"The safe word is "WHiskey."
Sorry, Rod, What was that?
"WHiskey"
Don't you mean "Whiskey?"
"WHat?"
You're saying it weird.
"Saying WHat WHEird?"
All of it.
"WHere do you get off?"
I just don't get why your saying it that way?
"WHY I'm saying WHat *WHAT* WHay?"
Forget it.
"I WHill! I WHill forget it!"

"All great men have mustaches!"
Yeah, but real men actually grow them!

"Ohhh when you're going on a date, and you put on a shirt! And you ride your bike to the daaaaate!"

You're a terrible stuntman.
"What?"
[louder] You're a terrible stuntman.
"What?"
[screaming] You're a terrible stuntman!
"Haha, I'm just kidding. I could hear you. It was just really mean."

"Oh, that is just something I was working on for mom."
Yeahh...cause mom is into that sort of thing.

Some of my favorite scenes are the entire Whiskey scene, the "I like to party" scene, the dancing to 2 of Hearts, and the riot scene, plus many many more.

I hope this made your day just a little bit:)

Betos and Rancheritos

I've been a fan of Beto's, like many people, since high school. The Beto's cousin Rancherito's is closer to my house, so I've been a fan of it too. Some of my favorite burrito options are the Texano, California, any of their breakfast burritos, and recently the plain Bean and Cheese. The delicious Beto's sauce options (my favorite is the creamy green) really complete their burritos. You can call ahead for pick up, and since they are open 24 hours, anytime can be Beto's time! If you've never been to Beto's be forewarned the burritos are the size of small children, so one burrito will likely last you two or three meals.

Victor's Tires

I first learned about Victor's tires a few years ago when I had one tire that wouldn't pass inspections. I didn't really want to buy two new tires, so I decided to buy a used one so they could hopefully wear more evenly and be ready to be replaced at the same time. Back then there were only two locations. Now Victor's Tires has eight locations-how convenient! The employees at Victor's are always friendly and knowledgeable. You can get an almost new tire for $25! That is dirt cheap. I just put two new tires on my car at Firestone and even with my "friends and family discount" I still paid more than $60 per tire. Check out Victor's Tires, you won't be disappointed!
